Looking to instantly renew your skin in a single, non-invasive treatment? A microdermabrasion or hydrodermabrasion is your answer. Join the ranks of our regular customers who leave our clinic feeling re-invigorated, relaxed and refreshed!

So what exactly is a microdermabrasion? Well, first and foremost it is a non-surgical facial resurfacing technique performed by one of our skilled dermal technicians. It exfoliates the outermost layer of dead skin cells (the stratum corneum) using a diamond-tipped wand and then vacuums away the skin debris - instantly leaving your skin feeling softer and smoother! The treatment instigates a ‘controlled damage’, with your body responding with the need to create new, healthy skin cells in order to replace the lost ones.

What can a microdermabrasion help with?

1.Minimising enlarged and clogged pores

2.Hyper-pigmentation, age spots and sun-damaged skin

3.Treating acne or resulting acne scars

4.Eliminating blackheads and whiteheads

5.Extracting in-grown hairs

6.Reducing stretch marks and cellulite

7.Improving overall skin health

While you will instantly see results in the way of clear, revitalised skin – a course of six to ten treatments is recommended for the best results. Fine lines, wrinkles, shallow acne scars and enlarged pores (and more!) have been reduced incredibly by a solid treatment plan teamed with homecare. At Southern Downs Skin & Laser Clinic, we like to see our clients return monthly for a treatment.

Additional benefits to microdermabrasion/hydrodermabrasion:

1.Up to 50% more penetration of skincare products

2.A smoother skin surface, resulting in a smoother makeup application

3.Increased blood flow to the skin, improving cell production and skin elasticity

4.No down-time! However, we recommend being careful with the treated skin for 24-48 hours and applying SPF 30+.

At Southern Downs Skin & Laser Clinic, we are more than happy to recommend aftercare products and have a retail selection of Skinstitut products – the same products that are used in our microdermabrasion and hydrodermabrasion treatments. Both of these treatments are on offer every weekday and are performed by our skilled dermal technicians. A microdermabrasion or hydrodermabrasion takes approximately 50-60 minutes.

We do offer complimentary consultations, so if you’d like to book an appointment to speak with one of our dermal technicians, we are more than happy to accommodate you.
